Will We Have Star Wars For Xmas?

No, this story is not about Star Wars Holiday Special, that came out in November anyways. There’s now another rumor going around about Star Wars, probably the second or third that’s gotten around this hour, that the next movie in the series may defy tradition and come out for Christmas 2015.

As fans of Star Wars know, the movies have always come out on Memorial Day because that’s when the first one was released, and Fox kept releasing films on that date for superstitious reasons, hoping it would bring continued good luck. Memorial Day is now considered one of the biggest dates to release a blockbuster, thanks to Star Wars, so if this rumor turns out to be true, it would definitely be a major change in the saga’s history.

This rumor was first mentioned on Badass Digest, and we read about it ourselves on the Huffington Post. Adding fuel to the fire, Box Office Mojo tweeted, “Apparently, Disney has yet to officially announce December 2015 date for STAR WARS because they aren’t even sure Abrams can hit that.”

Now always remember, the ‘net is not the most peerless source of accurate information, and like Mark Twain once said, a lie can go half-way around the world before the truth gets its shoes on, so take this, like all current Star Wars rumors, with a grain of salt. Any Star Wars movie is a massive undertaking, and if Abrams needs more time, we can certainly understand that.
