Anne Hathaway and Christopher Nolan reunite in Interstellar

While The Dark Knight Rises may not have been the great climax to the Batman series we may have hoped for, it was still a good ride for sure. While Bane didn’t totally deliver as the villain, one of the biggest surprises in the film was Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, and she did a terrific job in the role.

Having Catwoman in the movie was a big risk, we’re all still trying desperately to forget the Halle Berry debacle, but Hathaway pulled it off, and when someone brought up the possibility of the character having her own stand alone film, it wasn’t that far-fetched because she could definitely hold her own in that situation. (Again Hollywood, these are the kinds of remakes you should look into, crappy movies that have nowhere to go but up).

So now the news comes from Deadline that with Christopher Nolan’s next film, Interstellar, Hathaway will be returning to work with him again, starring opposite Matthew McConaughey. Remember, both actors are on a hot streak right now, with Hathaway starring in Rises and Les Miserables back to back, and winning an Academy Award for the latter. McConaughey’s also been having a bit of a resurgence with Magic Mike, and the upcoming Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street.

Little to nothing is known about Interstellar right now. It’s a sci-fi film about wormholes, and it’s due to hit theaters Thanksgiving 2014. As we’ve previously reported on TG, what we know so far is that McConaughey’s character is named Cooper. We also know that this project first started coming together in 2006 with Steven Spielberg, who had the idea for the character Kip S. Thorne, a physicist and relativity expert from Caltech.

Thorne believes that wormholes do indeed exist and could be used for time travel, and wouldn’t it be cool if the creator of Memento started playing around with going back and forth in time again, but this time with a sci-fi twist?

This is definitely exciting news for Nolan fans, because he could really craft something terrific in the sci-fi genre, and we’re definitely itching to see what he can come up with next year with McConaughey and Hathaway in the lead roles.
