Stargate SG-1: Unleashed prepped for mobile devices

MGM and Arkalis Interactive have officially confirmed the existence of Stargate SG-1: Unleashed, an interactive, ongoing game for Apple and Android mobile devices.

According to IGN, Unleashed will kick off with its first “episode” in March 2013, meaning, we’ll probably see an ongoing storyline with multiple releases.

As the folks at Gateworld point out, the official trailer features some pretty sweet animation, including terrific renders of the original SG-1 team: Jack O’Neill, Samantha Carter,Teal’c and Daniel Jackson.

Oh, and yes, Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, and Amanda Tapping have all done voice overs for the game.

Stargate SG-1 can best be described as a Canadian-American adventure and military science fiction television series created by Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner which premiered on Showtime on July 27, 1997.

The story begins about a year after the events of the feature film penned by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, soon after the US government learns about an ancient alien device known as the Stargate which was designed to access a network of such devices across the galaxy.
