Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC trailer goes live

Bioware’s long-awaited Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC trailer has finally gone live, just days ahead of an official August 28th launch for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

According to Bioware, the Leviathan DLC “expands upon the events of Mass Effect 3, with gripping and emotional storytelling, compelling new characters, and powerful weapons [AT-12 Raider Shotgun & M-55 Argus Assault Rifle] and upgrades.”

Although the game has understandably kept plot details close to its chest, we do know that the stalwart Shepard joins Admiral Hackett’s hunt for Leviathan following the murder of a scientist who was tracking the enigmatic entity in the hopes of finding a weapon to use against the Reapers.

Unsurprisingly, Reaper indoctrination is initially blamed for the killing, yet Team Shepard believes other forces may well be responsible for the rather suspicious atrocity.

The official synopsis is thus:

“Something lurks in the dark corners of space, something powerful enough to kill a Reaper. Shepard must discover the most closely guarded secret in the galaxy before the Reapers silence it forever. Discover more about the origins of the Reapers as you race across the galaxy to find the Leviathan. Unravel the dark history of the Reaper Race before it is too late. Coming later this summer there is no war, only the harvest.”

Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC will be available on August 28th for $10 on PSN/Origin and 800MSP for Xbox Live.
