Colonial Marines stalked by Xenomorphs in Aliens trailer

This times it’s war, and the Colonial Marines are ready for some serious Xenomorph action with an extensive arsenal of weapons that dwarfs anything seen in the original movie directed by James Cameron.

Most of the Gearbox crew interviewed in the video below picked the gnarly Pulse Rifle as their favorite in-game weapon.

Now we don’t know for certain, but I’m betting this baby has an uber-high kill ratio – something which is obviously important when you are being stalked by a coven of acid-spitting Xenomorphs.

Of course you’ll have plenty of other options to combat the Aliens, as Colonial Marines writer Mikey Neumann confirms every weapon from the film will make an appearance in the long-awaited game, including smart guns, and yes, trusty flame throwers.

In ACM, players lead a group of highly trained United States Colonial Marines as they board the ostensibly deserted U.S.S. Sulaco to uncover the fate of the crew.

The Marines are forced into a battle for survival as they hunt down the truth behind a galaxy-spanning deception that places humanity at the mercy of the most murderous and deadly species in the universe.

Aliens: Colonial Marines features authentic environments, such as the surface of LV-426 and Hadley’s Hope. The game goes live February 12, 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC – with a Wii U version expected at unspecified future date.
