Will Bill and Ted play with death again?

It’s incredibly exciting news to hear there may be one more Bill and Ted movie.

I never thought Keanu Reeves would be interested in coming back. Remember, he worked very hard to prove he was more than Ted as an actor, but apparently he and Alex Winter are both game to return for one last righteous film.

Both Reeves and Winter are happy with the script, and there’s clearly no Bill and Ted without either of ‘em, but there’s also one important actor we need to see come back for the next Bill and Ted.

Yes, the Grim Reaper, played by William Sadler, and according to Cinema Blend, he may be back for the next film if it all comes together.

Playing games with the Grim Reaper is a take off from the classic Swedish art film The Seventh Seal, directed by Ingmar Bergman, except in that film Max Von Sydow played chess with death, where Bill and Ted played Clue, Battleship and Twister.

Sadler, who was also in Die Hard 2 and The Shawshank Redemption, told Cinema Blend he’s “hopeful” another Bill and Ted will happen. “I’m not sure if it’s a done deal yet,” he said. “I know they’re trying to write the Grim Reaper in. Alex Winter said, ‘How could we do this without the Reaper?” How indeed?

“I’d love to go back and play with those guys again,” Sadler continued. “That was one of the most fun roles I’ve done. I’ll be there in a heartbeat, if they want to do it.”

Wrestling with death is the stuff serious drama is made of, but instead of bringing weight to Bill and Ted, the Grim Reaper brought great hilarity, and it would be great to have them all back for one more round.
