Bethesda’s Dishonored trailer is hella Dieselpunk

The first full-length trailer for Bethesda’s upcoming Dishonored game is now live.

The Dieselpunk-themed title casts the player as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge as he roams the dark city of Dunwall, which is besieged by plague and ruled by an oppressive government.

A once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress known as Corvo, you are framed for her murder and become an infamous assassin, identified only by the enigmatic mask that has become your calling card.

In Dishonored, you creatively eliminate your enemies with an extensive combat system that combines numerous supernatural abilities, weapons such as swords, daggers, and guns, as well as Dieselpunk-era gadgets.

The long-awaited game was designed with the help of a number of industry heavyweights, including Harvey Smith (Deus Ex,  Thief: Deadly Shadow), Raphaël Colantonio (BioShock 2, Arx Fatalis) and Viktor Antonov (Half-Life 2).

Dishonored is slated to launch sometime in 2012 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
