Who else will be coming back for Transformers 4?

So the big news recently broke that Michael Bay is back for more Transformers fun, and the fourth movie in the series will be hitting theaters in 2014.

This is absolutely big geek news because Bay swore he wouldn’t return to the property, but Paramount clearly made him an offer he couldn’t refuse, and the franchise won’t go over to another director who can’t possibly be more over the top. The real question is, will anyone else from the franchise come back with him?

Josh Duhamel told Entertainment Weekly, “I don’t think anybody’s doing it. I know Shia LaBeouf’s not doing it. I don’t think Tyrese or Rosie or anybody else is doing it.”

True, it’s still early in the game, and who knows if anyone’s even been given offers to come back.

As Duhamel noted, “Whenever these movies make that much money they’re going to make as many as they can. [But] I haven’t heard anything about it. They haven’t called me.”

You’ve always got to be careful as a filmmaker or an actor not to keep making the same movies the rest of your life, which is probably why Chris Nolan and Christian Bale are finishing up with Batman now, so they’re not devoting years and years more of their lives to the same franchise.

Not to mention working with Michael Bay is usually rough duty, and I can understand why a lot of actors would be reluctant to come back to Transformers, especially after putting in their time on three of them.

But really, when you think about it, what’s more important in Transformers? The robots or the people? Do you really think anyone’s going to pitch a fit because Shia LaBeouf isn’t coming back? The franchise did just fine without Megan Fox, and considering this version’s supposedly going to be a reboot, Bay can just insert a whole new group of young actors fighting robots, and as long as there’s a lot of robots beating the sh*t out of each other for two and a half hours, who really cares who’s running from them?
