The Force is strong with Lego Star Wars & The Avengers

Lucas Licensing is extendeding its lucrative Star Wars deal with The Lego Group for another 10 years.



The new contract is undoubtedly a win-win for both parties, as Lego has produced a myriad of models and sets for eager Star Wars fans over the past decade.

The Force is strong with Lego Star Wars & The Avengers Currently, Lego is working on new sets and figures based on EA's new MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Available sets and games include the Clone Wars, Episodes I-V1, Ace Assault II, Quest for R2D2 and Ace Assault. 



"It is very rare to find an evergreen property that delivers growth year-on-year in toys, even in years without events driving box office buzz, yet Star Wars defies all odds, continually reinventing itself," explained Lego exec Jill Wilfert.

"Star Wars is a cultural phenomenon that shares many characteristics with the LEGO brand–cross generational appeal, versatile story and character content, creativity and imagination - and we believe that we can continue to grow LEGO Star Wars for many years to come."



In other Lego related news, Marvel has offered a detailed look at some of its upcoming Lego Avengers sets, including Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout (Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye and Loki), Quinjet Arial Battle (Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, Loki), Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape (Iron Man, Loki and Hawkeye) and Captain America's Avenging Cycle (Captain America and two more figures). 



Lego The AvengersWe think the Quinjet Arial Battle is the sweetest looking one of them all. It comes with this description.

"Loki is up to no good and is planning to destroy the earth! As he flies into battle on board his chariot, help the Avenger's defeat their nemesis using the supersonic Quinjet!
