Apple lawyers targets MiKandi porn store

The corporate suits and ties at Club Cupertino have set their barking lawyers upon the hapless MiKandi.

Yes, the adult-themed MiKandi recently received a very stern cease-and-desist letter from Apple over the use of the term "App Store" to describe its Android-powered porn market.

As AppleInsider's Katie Marsal points out, MiKandi is the second digital download service targeted by the shiny Apple in just one month - the first being Amazon Appstore for Android.

Unsurprisingly, MiKandi has already changed all references from "app store" to "app market," and went so far as to rename the official "App Store" to "Mikandi App Market" on its website.

"It's [simply] not worth it for us to fight Apple's legal team over this by ourselves," MiKandi co-founder Jesse Adams told GeekWire.

Adams also noted that his company remained quite "focused" on Android, as the company recently launched a new virtual currency system.

"[We are] providing a lot of ways for users to personalize their experience using the store, around discovery and consumption of adult apps, making that easier," he added.
