Sony: 3D TVs, games to arrive in June
The first Sony 3D TVs are expected to hit the steaming Japanese streets on June 10th, 2010.
According to Kombo, international availability of the television sets will follow "in waves" after the initial Japanese launch date.
Meanwhile, Sony of Europe has announced plans to debut four 3D-enabled PS3 games which will be bundled with its new TV lineup.
The games reportedly include PAIN, Wipeout HD, Super Stardust HD and Motorstorm Pacific Rift.
"The TVs themselves will retail for what's expected to start around $3.5k or $4k," explained Kombo's Joey Davidson.
"Each TV will come with a PSN voucher code in order to gain access to the 3D titles. The PlayStations will include a firmware update in June in order to accommodate this 3D change."
However, Davidson noted that gamers will be required to purchase both the television and the 3D glasses - separately.
"Early adopters of the technology may not place as much emphasis on the value of the package they're purchasing. Simply put, these folks may be so loaded that they don't mind the need to pick up a few extra pairs of glasses," added Davidson.
Lame Sony! Boo. 4K and no glasses?! WTF?
