San Francisco (CA) - Without showing any in-game footage or game mechanic details, Epic Games confirmed it is working on a sequel to the 2006 hit Gears of War, and is slated for a November 2008 release.

The GoW 2 announcement concluded this morning's Xbox 360 keynote at the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco.  The premiere trailer for the game just showed shadowy figures in a red and black background engaging in brutally violent attacks.

The game has been confirmed for release this November.
