Doctor Who’s return in stills
BBC One has released a set of production stills from the next new episode, plus a closer look at the Ice Warriors.
The first new episode of Doctor Who since last year’s holiday special will air later this month. The Bells of St. John, written by showrunner Steven Moffatt, will see the Doctor face off against a brand new villain while he gets to know his brand new companion. After picking up the modern incarnation of the mysterious Clara, The Doctor will discover a strange signal in the London wi-fi, which leads him to the Spoonheads, whom he must battle against the backdrop of London’s most famous landmarks.
“It’s the 50th year of Doctor Who and look what’s going on!" Moffatt recently said of the upcoming half-season. "We’re up in the sky and under the sea! We’re running round the rings of an alien world and then a haunted house. There’s new Cybermen, new Ice Warriors and a never before attempted journey to the centre of the TARDIS. And in the finale, the Doctor’s greatest secret will at last be revealed! If this wasn’t already our most exciting year it would be anyway!”

The second half of season seven of Doctor Who will begin on March 30, 2013. Filming of the 50th Anniversary special - which will be in 3D and released in theaters - is slated to kick off in the spring so it can air after the end of the season.
