The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia hits #1 on Amazon

Have you every met any hard-core fans of The Legend of Zelda? I'm sure we all have, but I honestly never realized how many of them there were out there.

Just look at the incredible success of an art book based on the game franchise: The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Hysteria which is currently available as a hardcover book on Amazon.com.

The book spent a staggering 93 days on Amazon's top 100 books, and has now clinched the number one spot on the bestsellers list. Hyrule Historia is 272 pages long and offers various art, graphics, sketches and more from the video game.

While the book has spent 93 days in the top 100 on Amazon.com in the US, it has also spent a significant amount of time in the top 100 on the UK Amazon site, where it has has been in the top 100 for 39 days - peaking in the number nine spot. The book is available for $20.58 in the US with (free) Prime shipping.

For the uninitiated, The Legend of Zelda (ゼルダの伝説) is a high fantasy action-adventure video game series created by Japanese game designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka.

Gameplay typically consists of a mixture of action, adventure, and puzzle solving. The series focuses primarily on Link, a playable character and the protagonist who is often tasked with the rescue of Princess Zelda.
