PS3 offers $20 Playstation Store promotion
If you spend $100 on digital Playstation goods this month, you'll get $20 back.
Not a bad deal. It's an effort by Sony to encourage strong sales through its digital download network available on the PS3, PSP, and Playstation Vita.
Customers do not need to register their accounts and there are no silly restrictions. Sony is trying to make the promotion as user-friendly as possible.
Users will receive credit for things like Playstation Plus memberships or renewals, premium video services such as DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket, as well as all the typical content like downloadable PS3 games and add-ons.
The promotion is limited to $20 per user. So if you happen to spend $200 on downloads this month, you won't get $40. Regardless of when you hit the $100 milestone, all vouchers will be issued in November.
This comes just after Sony announced a new initiative to bring packaged retail games to the Playstation Store the same day they're released in stores. So instead of running out to Best Buy, Sony wants you to just click a few buttons on your PS3 controller -- and this month, the company is even rewarding you for doing so.
"With the month of October so packed with scorching-hot game releases, you’ll definitely want to look out for titles like Resident Evil 6, Dishonored, Assassin’s Creed III, The Walking Dead: Episode 4, Assassin’s Creed: Liberation, Street Fighter x Tekken on PS Vita and plenty of others," Sony said in a statement.
