Xbox 720 due before 2014, will have Skype

We're getting yet another case of Xbox 720 rumor fever.

Yet again, it looks like Microsoft may have spilled some of the beans about its next generation Xbox console via job listings on its website.

Of course, the company is sort of in a catch 22 situation, since it needs qualified people on the Xbox 720 team but at the same time doesn't want to let too much information slip by.

So, a job ad for a Central Marketing Group director explains that "over the next eighteen months Microsoft will release new versions of all of our most significant products including Windows (Client, Server, Phone and Azure), Office and Xbox, along with completely new offerings like Microsoft Surface."

And another job ad, for a "UI Designer & Prototyper -Xbox" includes the following line: "The team you'll join is responsible for Skype in the living room (broadly the home), across various devices but with a focus on the large screen and the next generation of Xbox."

Recent leaks about the new Xbox show that the console will have "Kinect v2" built directly into the console, so there will be no need for an extra peripheral.

Among the enhancements referenced are the ability to track four players simultaneously, stronger integration with other devices like the PC and Windows Phone, and just all-around more powerful performance.

Another interesting thing mentioned in the leak is a project Microsoft is reportedly working on, called Kinect Glasses, which has hints of Google's Project Glass in it.

Few solid details are laid out, but it looks like they'll both enhance your core experience with the Xbox 720, and can be used on-the-go as well.

This current generation of consoles is breaking all the rules because of the "future-proof" mechanisms built into the Xbox 360 and PS3, so the next round of consoles will be even more fascinating to watch.
