Beijing Olympics to accelerate FTTH deployment in China

  • With China stepping up its infrastructure development for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployment in the country will speed up, with subscribers soaring to 36 million by 2011 from 150,000 in 2006, according to Digitimes Research.Currently, xDSL is the mainstream in the broadband market in China, while FTTH is only available in big cities.
