HackBerry A10 developer board now shipping

  • We recently ran a story about the HackBerry A10 developer board which was introduced at a $60 price point. Essentially, the device is an uber-mini dev board designed to run Android, Linux and other operating systems. Of course, it can also be used as a HTPC media center for the living room.

The board is powered by an Allwinner A10 ARM Cortex-A8 processor operating at 1.2 GHz.

As you may recall, the Allwinner is a ubiquitous chipset that powers a number of bare-bones Android dev boards and PCs-on-a-stick.

In any case, the HackBerry A10 boasts Mali 400 graphics and 4 GB of integrated storage. It's also fitted with a SDHC card slot supporting up to 32 GB of additional storage.

The board is offered in two versions - with either 512 MB or 1 GB of RAM.

The version shipping and in stock right now is the 1 GB version for $65 (the the 512 MB is priced at $60). Connectivity options include dual USB 2.0 ports, integrated Ethernet, integrated Wi-Fi, and HDMI output, a 3.5 mm microphone jack, and composite/component video outputs. The device is also equipped with a four-pin serial port.
