Fox is promoting its Fall sci-fi actioner, Almost Human, in this video feature. And, guess what? It looks like robot cops on television are going to beat Robocops on the movie screen, judging by a comparison of clips available. It is a J.J. Abrams production so you can expect a lot of lens flare but try not to let that put you off. Almost Human looks like must see TV.
Apple may have just released iOS 7 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, but it doesn't seem as if Cupertino is stopping there.
Do we really need another Pirates of the Caribbean movie? A critic even joked that The Lone Ranger was essentially another Pirates flick, just in the West this time. But apparently there will indeed be another Pirates, just not as originally planned.
There’s always going to be people out there who don’t understand that you should only call 911 for a real emergency. Situations like your cable going out, and having bad diarrhea, don’t count.
When it was reported that Jurassic Park 4 was getting shut down right before it was supposed to start shooting, it certainly wasn’t a good sign. As much as TGD is tired of sequels and reboots, we actually wouldn’t mind seeing what could be done with Jurassic Park today.
Everybody’s a critic, especially in the age of the internet. Once we finally got another Star Trek flick, Star Trek Into Darkness, the opinions were many, and very divided. A lot of fans found it disappointing, and the current Trek crew aren’t taking it lightly.
Metallica’s concert film, Through the Never, is not your typical rock n roll flick. Like Led Zeppelin’s The Song Remains the Same, it has a dramatic narrative that weaves its way in and out of the concert footage. Never was also shot in IMAX 3D, and will have the biggest opening for an IMAX movie in the technology’s history.
Ant-Man is part of Marvel’s next phase of movies, and its estimated time of arrival will be 2015, which is shaping up to be one busy year for genre movies. In case you’ve been living under a rock, 2015 will see the release of the JJ Abrams directed Star Wars, Batman Vs Superman, and Avengers 2.
Many predicted that World War Z would suffer the same fate as After Earth and The Lone Ranger. In other words, everyone was convinced it would wind up a complete box office disaster. While World War Z wasn’t a hit on the level of say, Iron Man 3, and it could still take time before it earns a profit, it dodged a bullet and actually did fairly well all things considered.
Should Fans Stop Worrying and Love the Cast? Sonny Crockett's daughter and Jax Teller don't cut it?
Sony has debuted an uber-mini console targeted at gamers who want to play PlayStation Vita titles on the big screen.
Is this a concert movie of the greatest metal band of all time, or a weird fantasy thing, or just plain weird. Whatever it is, it blows your ear drums away and burns out your eye sockets.
The new Xbox One ad has hit the airwaves in the US to coincide with the beginning of the NFL season. We may be wrong, but it looks more like an ad for a consumer PC experience. Ah, remember the living room PC? It's like deja vu all over again.
People should stop ragging on Keanu. He is a talented, sincere guy who may be on his way to becoming a great action director. We submit the trailer for Man of Tai Chi. This is not your geezers in a park Tai Chi.
Gravity, starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, just had a strong debut at the Venice Film Festival, and the early reviews for it have been very positive. But who cares what the critics think when the king of the world hails your movie as a masterpiece.
We at TGD have said it many times before, we’ll say it again: Video game movies suck. We’re hoping one day some brave filmmaker will reverse the trend, and the upcoming World of Warcraft movie certainly has promise, not to mention the Halo webisodes are pretty cool too.
It was announced some time ago that there will be two sequels to Independence Day that will go under the moniker ID Forever. Then there were reports going around that Will Smith’s asking price for the sequels was $50 million, or $25 million each.
Joel Kinnaman is the man ever since he broke through with Snabba Cash in Europe and The Killing in the US. Robocop could propel him into the A list, but the first official trailer doesn't quite make you geek out. See what you think.
In the early ‘70s, the first big screen adaptation of Michael Crichton’s work was The Andromeda Strain, followed by the sci-fi hit that he directed himself, Westworld. With so much potential for technology to go wrong, and with pretty much every single movie destined to be remade, a Westworld reboot seemed inevitable (Arnold Schwarzenegger was going to star at one point, not much of a stretch from The Terminator).
Like many fans of Terry Gilliam, I grew up with the hilarious madness of Monty Python on TV, as well as on the big screen. Gilliam launched his movie career directing Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and I’ve loved the best of his work, including Time Bandits (one of my absolute faves growing up), Brazil, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, and more.
