Microsoft today said that its Xbox 360 has become the first current-gen
game console to hit the 10 million unit market in the U.S. The Xbox
Live community has grown to 12 million users worldwide.
Video game publisher Atari has announced that it will release a new Wii game called "Family Trainer," a title that will encourage users to get up and be active in "wildly entertaining activities." However, unlike other similar games that have been announced, Atari will package its own version of Nintendo's "Balance Board" controller.
Soon after Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto IV on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, owners of the PS3 version began complaining about problems with its lower HD resolution and complications with online modes. People called out to Rockstar to release a patch to the game, but so far it has not done so. Now it appears the issue is with the PS3 hardware itself, so a fix would need to come directly from Sony.
Los Angeles (CA) - Disney has revealed details on the kind of features it plans to incorporate in the next generation of Blu-ray Discs. A new technology known as "BD Live" will open up Internet connectivity options and other advanced features, of which Disney is apparently poised to take advantage.
The country's largest video game publisher Electronic Arts announced that it is working on a new entry to its "Skate" franchise, for Nintendo's Wii and DS systems. The game, Skate It, will be compatible with Nintendo's Wii Balance Board controller, which allows gamers to use their feet to control some of the action. Additionally, it will use a new control scheme with the DS stylus.

Gut Reaction - We all know Steven Spielberg for his masterpieces in film, E.T. and Jurassic Park to name a few. His branching out to Saturday morning-style cartoons was also a success, and with an intriguing video game now under his belt it seems there is nothing he can't do. After Sony refused to pay the licensing fees requested by the Formula 1 car racing association, England-based Codemasters has stepped up and nabbed the former Sony-exclusive license. Codemasters has gained the global rights to the racing label, promising to bring Formula 1-branded games to consoles, PC, and handheld gaming platforms.
Despite Sony's PS3 console being outsold by the Xbox 360 by more than two to one in the US, it managed to grab a healthy amount of the Grand Theft Auto IV sales.
