In the grand scheme of classic cars, you can get a DeLorean relatively cheap compared to say, a Lamborghini, or a Rolls. And now you can get your DeLorean Back to the Futureized, except it won’t take you back in time of course.
Come on, geezers! Sylvester Stallone has cornered the market on wishful thinking for the olds. This trailer for Grudge Match has Rocky going up against Raging Bull. These guys are on the wrong side of 60, which is the new 30 apparently. Meaning that these guys are going to live to be 140 and we can look forward to Depends fights in the dining room of the seniors facility (that's a movie treatment I am working on right now).
Until cloning is perfected, directors will only be able to helm one film at a time. This is too bad for JJ Abrams, because even though he’s got three thousand productions in development, he’s now going to have to step down from directing Star Trek 3 because he’ll be too busy helming Star Wars.
Metallica’s concert film, Through the Never, is nearly upon us. It will receive the biggest IMAX opening release on October 27, and will spread out to more theaters after that. Seeing Metallica in IMAX 3D sounds like a great proposition, but how about another album?
When the last Harry Potter book came out, that was it for the franchise. The series was done, over, kaput. We all knew this, and there was no way of bringing it back. Or was there?
Where would we be without Dolby Stereo? Sound has certainly come a long way since then, but when Dolby came along, it was a huge step forward for movies. Try to imagine any amazing blockbuster you loved growing up without it.
HG Wells’s The Island of Dr Moreau is a story that’s been made three times as a movie. In Moreau, a mad doctor creates a cross between humans and animals, and the first big screen incarnation, Island of Lost Souls, was a big movie for Universal during the ‘30’s monster era.
The prospect of another Bill and Ted movie definitely has us salivating at TGD, and both Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are onboard, doing everything they can to make it happen. Except now comes word there’s snags holding up one of the most anticipated comedy reunions since Cheech and Chong finally buried the hatchet.
Thanks to the movie incarnation of X-Men, which turned comic movies around big time, Professor Xavier’s mutants are more popular than ever. And thanks to Joss Whedon’s big screen version of The Avengers, superhero teams have never been hotter.
We’re not nuts about the prospect of a new Terminator movie here at TGD. Without James Cameron at the helm, the franchise is just not going to be up to its previous standards. And if Schwarzenegger comes back, who wants to see a Terminator pushing 70?
Fox is promoting its Fall sci-fi actioner, Almost Human, in this video feature. And, guess what? It looks like robot cops on television are going to beat Robocops on the movie screen, judging by a comparison of clips available. It is a J.J. Abrams production so you can expect a lot of lens flare but try not to let that put you off. Almost Human looks like must see TV.
Do we really need another Pirates of the Caribbean movie? A critic even joked that The Lone Ranger was essentially another Pirates flick, just in the West this time. But apparently there will indeed be another Pirates, just not as originally planned.
There’s always going to be people out there who don’t understand that you should only call 911 for a real emergency. Situations like your cable going out, and having bad diarrhea, don’t count.
When it was reported that Jurassic Park 4 was getting shut down right before it was supposed to start shooting, it certainly wasn’t a good sign. As much as TGD is tired of sequels and reboots, we actually wouldn’t mind seeing what could be done with Jurassic Park today.
Everybody’s a critic, especially in the age of the internet. Once we finally got another Star Trek flick, Star Trek Into Darkness, the opinions were many, and very divided. A lot of fans found it disappointing, and the current Trek crew aren’t taking it lightly.
Metallica’s concert film, Through the Never, is not your typical rock n roll flick. Like Led Zeppelin’s The Song Remains the Same, it has a dramatic narrative that weaves its way in and out of the concert footage. Never was also shot in IMAX 3D, and will have the biggest opening for an IMAX movie in the technology’s history.
Ant-Man is part of Marvel’s next phase of movies, and its estimated time of arrival will be 2015, which is shaping up to be one busy year for genre movies. In case you’ve been living under a rock, 2015 will see the release of the JJ Abrams directed Star Wars, Batman Vs Superman, and Avengers 2.
Many predicted that World War Z would suffer the same fate as After Earth and The Lone Ranger. In other words, everyone was convinced it would wind up a complete box office disaster. While World War Z wasn’t a hit on the level of say, Iron Man 3, and it could still take time before it earns a profit, it dodged a bullet and actually did fairly well all things considered.
Should Fans Stop Worrying and Love the Cast? Sonny Crockett's daughter and Jax Teller don't cut it?
Sony has debuted an uber-mini console targeted at gamers who want to play PlayStation Vita titles on the big screen.
