The last several years have been a remarkable time for genre TV with shows like Revolution, SHIELD, and Under the Dome. Revolution especially came on strong, but later in the year it faltered after going on a brief hiatus. So now that the show is back, will its audience come back to it as well?
If you love to read, or love to write, the end of bookstores as we know it is a sad development that’s been coming for a long time. And apparently without a big blockbuster like a Fifty Shades of Grey supporting it, the book business continues to be in trouble.
You knew this was coming…it was pretty much a given that there would be Star Wars modifications made to Disneyland considering they now own the franchise, and now those plans are apparently coming to pass.
As long as the Simpsons have been around, it’s funny to think they haven’t gotten the LEGO treatment until now. And once you see the finished result, it’s clear the Simpsons were always a natural to be LEGO-ed.
We’re now almost ten days into the new year, and the verdict is in on what we’ve been calling the console wars between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. And it’s a bit of a surprising verdict, because one console was definitely ahead of the game a month ago, but the tortoise may have beaten the hare this time.
We’re still a ways away from a truly great video game movie, if it’s ever going to arrive, and good, bad, or indifferent, the big screen adaptation of Need For Speed is arriving in theaters this March.

We just reported that late last year, Stan Lee hit the big 9-1, and it’s remarkable that he’s still here, and just as spirited as ever. He’s also been busier than ever, with a brand new TV show, Mighty 7, and an upcoming cameo on SHIELD.
Trekkies everywhere are familiar with what’s called the tricorder, which could diagnose what was wrong with you as easily as scanning your groceries at the market. A lot of things we’ve seen in sci-fi movies and TV could become a reality some day, so is a real life tricorder on its way?
While we at TGD were very skeptical about Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but it proved a worthy reboot of the series to many fans, especially with Andy Serkis’s remarkable motion capture performance as Caesar. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes may not be out in theaters until July 11, but the third Apes movie has already gotten the greenlight, and Matt Reeves will return as director.
How many times have we had to go to the bathroom at a movie, but we’re not sure when’s a good time to flee because we don’t want to miss anything? Some movies, you know when’s a good time to take a tinkle, and some you can’t tell.

We at TGD were surprised to read about Kevin Smith’s plans for a new movie, because we were under the impression he was going to retire from the biz. Then again, how many times have The Who, The Rolling Stones and Ozzy done final tours, right?
