Now that The Walking Dead has hit its mid season finale, it’s been a triumphant third time around for the series, and the undead have never been hotter.
Of course, wherever there’s something hot in pop culture, there are usually video games, and how could The Walking Dead not join in on the zombie game jamboree fun?
Yes, there’s a new game called Walking Dead: Assault that is available from the iTunes store
for your iPad or iPhone. The game is similar to the comic, and you can pick four characters to be part of your zombie fighting gang. This game follows the comic, so some characters like Michonne aren’t available yet, but they will be down the road.
You can currently snap up the game for $1.99 in the App store, and it will soon go up to $2.99. There are also future installments of the game due in the future, including Safety Behind Bars, and Fear the Hunters, which will have Michonne, Tyreese, and the Governor, along with new weapons you can fight zombies with.
So with zombies still king in the ratings, and with the books Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z still on the best-sellers lists, perhaps we can understand why there’s still some undead paranoia out there. Now again, for the last time, there are no such thing as zombies, so please stop stocking up your bunker against a zombie attack.
You think we’re kidding? There’s a new report on Komonews
that gun sales are up in Seattle out of fear of a "zombie apocalypse." Plus, the Center for Disease Control once ran a story on its website, "Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse," and apparently people are taking it seriously
, even though the CDC clarified it "as a tongue in cheek campaign to engage new audiences."
"If you are generally well equipped to deal with a zombie apocalypse you will be prepared for a hurricane, pandemic, earthquake, or terrorist attack... So please log on, get a kit, make a plan, and be prepared!" Dr. Ali Khan of the CDC added.
