The Odd Life of Timothy Green Trailer comes from the garden
Walt Disney Pictures has launched the first trailer for its upcoming family fantasy film, The Odd Life of Timothy Green.
Directed by Peter Hedges and Staring Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton and CJ Adams, this light fantasy film follows the story of a loving couple who accidentally wish themselves a child by placing their hopes and dreams for an ideal youngster into a box, and burying it in the yard. The trailer comes complete with a message from Garner to make sure you know that MSN had it first.
From the trailer it looks more comedy than anything else, and will be strongly reliant on the tired and clichéd man-out-of-place routine. Each scene will be filled with puzzled looks and awkward questions as plant-boy discovers what it’s like to fit in with the human world.
The official synopsis is thus:
Academy Award–nominated director/writer Peter Hedges ("Dan in Real Life," "What's Eating Gilbert Grape") brings enchantment to the screen with "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," an inspiring, magical story about a happily married couple, Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton), who can't wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. When young Timothy (CJ Adams) shows up on their doorstep one stormy night, Cindy and Jim—and their small town of Stanleyville—learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life's greatest gifts.
The Odd Life of Timothy Green hits theaters on August 15th, 2012.
