Judge tells Apple lawyer he’s ‘smoking crack’

The legal system is getting quite the run for its money with this Samsung-Apple lawsuit.

The judge at the helm of the case yelled at Apple for putting together what she called a ridiculous list of witnesses.

Apple tried to book a whole bunch of people to testify at the last minute. A total of 75 pages worth of witnesses were submitted to the court.

This, in spite of the fact that US District Judge Lucy Koh has already told both sides they only get 25 hours to make their case. Apple only has around 6.5 hours left.

So when Apple made those witness requests, Koh lost it.

“I am not going to be running around trying to get 75 pages of briefings for people who are not going to be testifying. I mean come on. 75 pages! 75 pages! You want me to do an order on 75 pages, (and) unless you’re smoking crack, you know these witnesses aren’t going to be called when you have less than four hours,” she said.

Apple lawyer Bill Lee simply replied, “Your honor, I can assure you, I’m not smoking crack.”

Koh has already shown her disdain for both sides, saying she won’t believe anything unless she sees it in writing.

“If it turns out I went through 75 pages for people who are not going to be called, I am going to think of a proper tax for that,” she said.
