JVC has announced two high definition LCD televisions that produce images at 120 frames each second. This framerate is double what normal televisions can produce and JVC promises the higher frequency will reduce blurring and ghost images common to normal televisions. The 37" LT-37X987 and the 32" LT-32X987 will both sport 1366 by 768 pixels (progressive)resolution and come with a multitude of inputs.
While the sets will produce 120 fps, they will also use JVC's Clear Motion Drive to produce an interpolated frame to minimize flicker and brighten images. Further sharpness comes from JVC's claimed 6 ms response time.
The TV sets will have two HDMI inputs, two component inputs, two S-Video inputs, 15 pin D-Sub PC input, optical digital audio out and audio output. Speakers and a 20-watt amp are mounted at the bottom of the set.
The LT-37X987 will sell in August for around $2700 while the 32" 32X987 will be available in October for about $2000.
