How to Buy Cryptocurrencies

There are a lot of exchanges and platforms where you can buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Co. Here I would like to introduce only a few Exchanges which I also use myself. There is definitely more and you should know in advance exactly what you use. In this article Bitfinex, Kraken, LocalBitcoins are not mentioned or just cut.

Buy Bitcoin, Ethereum or Litecoin

Bitpanda

The quickest and easiest way to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash or Litecoin through online banking is via Bitpanda. Here you can get with SOFORT transfer within a few minutes to the desired crypto currency.

However, since the EU has introduced guidelines for the purchase of cryptic money, one must go through a verification process (KYC) here. This is very fast and easy with ID verification. If one does not do this, one can only buy or sell a small contingent.

Coinbase

Coinbase is the wallet provider I prefer the most. Again, you can buy or sell by credit card or bank transfer – to Estonia – Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin.

Here, however, you have a $ 200 limit per week until you have gone through the KYC know your customer process. If you have this, the limit rises to $ 1,000 a week. This makes Coinbase more suitable for buying small quantities and keeping coins online.

XAPO

At Xapo you can first charge your account with USD or EUR and then buy Bitcoin directly at the current price. Xapo also has its own Visa card, which allows you to pay at all Visa acceptance points with Bitcoin!

Buy and sell Altcoins

Altcoins (alternatives to Bitcoin) can be bought at CEX.io, C-Cex , Bittrex, Bitfinex, Poloniex and others via Bitcoin or Ethereum. Among the best-known Altcoins include Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero and Dash. Before you buy or sell with cex.io must read this review (cex crypto coins).

In the following I specifically mention crypto and token exchanges.

Poloniex, Coinigy and Bittrex

For smaller orders and for daily trading the exchanges Coinigy, Bittrex and Poloniex are very good. You can easily send your coins from Coinbase, Bitpanda and Cex.io to Poloniex or Bittrex. After that, the various coins listed on the exchanges can be easily bought and sold in seconds with Bitcoin or Ethereum.

The beauty of these exchanges is that the buying and selling happens instantaneously and you do not have to wait for the confirmation of the individual blockchains. So, as soon as you keep a certain cryptocurrency but you want a different cryptocurrency, but it may not be available on the exchanges in your country (Bitpanda and Coinbase), you can go to Poloniex or Bittrex and buy it immediately.

Cryptocurrencies can also be exchanged here. So you can exchange within seconds his Bitcoins in Monero, Ethereum, XRP and many others.

Kraken

If you want to buy multiple cryptocurrencies and tokens, Kraken is a good choice. The big problem with Kraken, however, is that the KYC verification takes a long time. This happens with Bitpanda with the video telephony within minutes.

Shapeshift

Shapeshift is very interesting because you do not even have to register! It is, so to speak, a transfer-of-values

device. Here you can exchange any cryptocurrency and any token – the Shapeshift listed – for another Cryptocurrency or another Token.

So, if you want to exchange Ethereum for DigiByte, for example, you can simply enter the value of Ethereum that you are ready to exchange and Shapeshift will handle the “swap” for you. All you have to do is enter your Ether-Wallet address and your DGB wallet address and you’re ready to go.

The transactions take place here very fast and the customer support is also impeccable.

But I have to warn you!

Unfortunately, Poloniex has very bad customer support and no matter which stock market you choose, you run the risk of the stock market going broke, your coins disappearing or being hacked!

Never leave large amounts of cryptocurrencies on the net but store them on your PC, USB paper stick wallet or set up another hardware wallet.

As long as your coins are in the net you always have the risk to lose them!
