LG today said at CES that it sees the recessional state of the economy as an opportunity for the company to come up with products to differentiate itself from its rivals. Michael Ahn, president and chief executive officer for LG North America said during his keynote that LG has no intentions to reduce its spending for marketing and research&development at this time.

In 2009, the company will put a big bet on networked TVs that are able to receive content via Internet streaming. Among the new products will be TVs that offer direct access to Netflix, YouTube, Yahoo Widgets and YouTube. The company stated it will also offer more TVs that come with enhanced audio features that are fine-tuned by Mark Levinson, 240 Hz display technology as well as LCD TVs with Led backlights that will be available in sizes up to 55”.
