Taiwan DRAM makers may record up to $900 million in losses in Q4

Taiwan's major DRAM manufacturers – Inotera Memories, Nanya Technology, Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC) and ProMOS Technologies – may post combined losses of $606 million -$908 million for the fourth quarter of 2008, market watchers estimate. The gloomy prediction comes in the wake of Micron Technology's announcement that its losses widened in its first quarter of fiscal 2009 (ended December 4, 2008).
