Ford today announced a hybrid version for its For Fusion sedan. The new car, which will be released as a 2010 model and go head-to-head against the Toyota Camry hybrid and GM cars such as the Malibu hybrid gets the engine setup known from the Escape hybrid, which includes a 2.5 liter 155 hp four-cylinder gasoline engine.

Ford claims that the fuel efficiency rating will be in the 40 mpg range and enable the car to travel up to 700 miles on one tank of gasoline.

The car will be on dealer lots in spring of next year. Pricing has not been announced.
