2.5 litre 155 HP?!? isn't that a little over-powered for a hybrid? no wonder it only gets 40mpg.

I can NOT believe that it took Ford 10 years and almost going broke in order to start producing cars that people actually want to buy! Until last year they were still introducing SUV's...hopefully they finely "get it"! I just hope that it is not too late for them! This car should have been introduced 10 years ago ...and Ford would be in great shape now if they did! Their old management was "bunch of morons" that use to go to car shows to find out what customers want! Every Idiot knows that there is a huge difference between preferences of ordinary customer and car enthusiasts. They really believed that customers wanted 4x4 with zillion horsepower...and 3 miles per gallon. I don't know why but I am almost confident that they will overprice this car the same way they did with Escape Hybrid and they will not see much of the positive impact on their bottom line! God..I hope they learn!

Until the big 3 start pricing thier fuel efficient vehicles correctly (by that I mean affordable), they are still going to be having finacial troubles. And I for one am not for another bailout.

Ford builds fuel efficient cars for years, so does GM. Europe's Ford focus was introduced in the US 10 years ago and is still one of the most efficient cars. Go to Brazil and you'll find some snappy fuel sippers from Ford an GM.
Let's just be honest here, most Americans wanted large trucks and SUV's. We only started to think about fuel efficiency when oil prices got too high. By the way, data shows that hybrid sales are slightly down and SUV sales are slightly up in a overall down car sales environment.

I shake my head. How can you get so detached from reality?
