Only a few dozen people have been able to take delivery of a Tesla Roadster, but if any of them wants to own something that is even more exclusive, Brabus is offering warp drive for the electric car.
 
Typically, Brabus is known for building tricked-out Mercedes vehicles and Smart cars, but they have now gone to work on the Tesla Roadster. The company added carbon-fiber toys, added lightweight wheels, and painted the roadster white. Brabus wasn’t able to change the drive train, but they did install a “space sound generator” that mimics the sounds of a V8 engine.

Brabus claims that the space sound generator was designed in an attempt "to give the sports car a more exciting sound," and notes "the volume of the sound is dependent upon the momentary power output of the electric motor."

These rather strange tweaks also extended into the vehicle’s interior. Brabus added entrance lights shaped like futuristic space lights, added white trim inserts and an Alcantara dash. The exterior has carbon fiber accents on the front apron, a rear diffuser and side air inlets. There is a customized carbon-fiber wing on the vehicle, 18” Brabus wheels in the front, and 19” in the back, wrapped with low-rolling resistance Pirelli tires.

This Tesla was customized for the upcoming German Essen Motor Show, which is much similar to the SEMA auto trade show in the United States. There has been no indication as to the price of these modifications, but if you are among the first owners of the stock roadster, then the extra cost should not be a major concern.

Oh thats it! A V8 engine! The only thing I can ask is... Why? Trick out the body and give it a bunch of carbonfiber. But a speaker that mimics the sound of a V8? If you have the cash to buy a tesla to begin with, you probably will have the cash to buy that American Muscle to quench that V8 hunger you might have.
