One Laptop per Child (OLPC) announced that it will be repeating last year’s G1G1 promotion that asks individuals to buy two OLPC laptops for $399 and give one of them to a child in a developing country as a donation. Buyers can also choose to only donate a laptop for $199.

The program will be handled by Amazon for customers in the U.S., as well as the UK-based subsidiary of the shop for international participants of the program.

Last year’s G1G1 project provided more than 150,000 donated laptops. To date, more than 500,000 XO laptops have been sent to 31 countries, OLPC said. One million will be reached by the end of 2008, the organization said.
