Chicago (IL) - Pretec, a maker of  flash memory cards for devices like digital cameras, is back to the "bigger is better" motto with its unveiling of 64 GB and 100 GB CompactFlash cards. The company also announced some faster CF cards as well.

The company specifically is showing off its new 64 GB and 100 GB,233X CF cards with access speeds of up to 35 MB/s. These are being joined by the 333X 32 GB and 64 GB CF cards, reportedly capable of running up to 50 MB per second of read/write speed. Pretec says this makes them the highest speed CF card in the world.

Both the CF 233X and 333X CF cards use metal housing, said Pretec, and the 64 GB CF cards can be configured or reused to make a 256 GB SATA using the company's "flexible, scalable and modular SATA/PATA design" technology. The Pretec 233X 64 GB and 333X 32 GB CF cards should be available now  for around $400 and $630, respectively.
