San Francisco (CA) – You can pry my Blackberry out of my cold dead hands. That’s the feeling some business travelers expressed in a recent study on working professionals and mobile phones. StudyLogic interviewed 6500 people on behalf of Sheraton Hotels & Resorts and found that most people would bring the PDA into the bedroom and that the vast majority of travelers would check their phone messages and emails just before going to sleep. A similar percentage would also check their messages right after waking up. Surprisingly, 35% said they would choose a PDA or Blackberry over their spouses.
It probably shouldn't surprise people that most travelers would bring their Blackberry and smart phones into the bedroom, but the percentages expressed in the study are eye opening. 87% of the people surveyed said they would bring the devices in the bedroom while 84% would check their phones right before going to bed. 80% said they would check their phones right after waking up.
Most of those surveyed, 62%, said they loved their smart phones and believed that the devices made their lives more productive.
