Denver (CO) – Got a little extra cash lying around? Then you may be interested in splurging for the upcoming Pioneer Blu-ray disc player that will retail for $2000. According to Wired, Pioneer will introduce the expensive Elite BDP-09FD player at the CEDIA 2008 expo in Denver Colorado this week. What makes this thing so darn expensive?
The unit will have 4 GB of internal memory and a 16-bit chip that will increase color range to that of the master copy. Sounds suspiciously like color upsampling to me. Read more … Wired
