I looked over Panasonic's Toughbook line. The last time I browsed their models, they had only slower CPU's, lower capacity hard drives, and smaller screens. It would be nice if Panasonic had a business class Toughbook:
1) A 15.5" Standard Aspect ratio screen. If you haven't noticed, word processors are designed for a Standard Aspect ratio, NOT widescreen. People do NOT print in widescreen or "landscape." They print in "portrait"! Does anyone actually remember WYSIWYG??!! Anyone? A 15.5" SA 1024x768 screen should be mandatory.

2) The fastest possible standard mobile Intel Centrino dual-core CPU without overclocking.

3) A 250 GB or 300 GB 2.5" hard drive.

4) USB 2.0 (or 3.0), Firewire, external SATA, etc... blah, blah.

5) 4 GB or higher RAM capacity.

6) Separate dedicated graphics chip with independent RAM.

It would be nice if Panasonic had an up-to-date Toughbook. However, they always seem to only have slower notebooks with smaller screens. If Panasonic actually had the above model, it would be worth paying extra since regular notebooks are so delicate, you could destroy them simply by dropping them. What you want is a notebook which can take a beating in your daily routine.

It is really nice but also really expensive.
