Napster today said that its subscriber base has dropped from 760,000 to 708,000 paid subscribers in the second quarter of this year. Sales were $30.3 million, which translates into a 6% decrease from $32.3 million compared to the same period last year and a slight decline from $30.8 million sequentially. The net loss for the second quarter came in at $4.4 million.

According to the company, track sales per subscriber were up 10% in July, month over month, with total track sales up 5% during the same period.

Napster said that Lenovo has agreed to add the subscription service on its new line of consumer notebook computers in the U.S. and Canada. Napster subscriptions are available from $13 per month.
