Notebook demand to help drive sales for IC design houses in Q3 PDF Print E-mail

With Intel introducing its new Centrino 2 platform and expecting strong growth in the notebook market this quarter, Taiwan notebook makers are stocking up on notebook-use ICs amid expectations that their shipments will increase by more than 20% this quarter, market sources noted, while adding that design houses including Ene Technology, Global Mixed-mode Technology (GMT), and Integrated Technology Express (ITE) are expected to benefit. Ene last week announced June sales of $4.38 million, and the company's accumulated sales from January to June were NT$794 million.
