London (England) – The UK’s Ministry of Defense is having its laptops stolen and lost at an alarming rate.  According to new statistics, the ministry says 658 laptops were stolen over the past four years, while 89 laptops were lost during the same period.  The ministry has banned any unencrypted laptops from leaving headquarters.

The ministry has approximately 35000 laptops and 13000 have full-disk encryption while 10000 have partial encryption.
