VidaBox, normally known for its media servers, is going small and compact with its freshly released PicoPC. This little HDTV add-on marries your flat panel with a Windows XP embedded accessory for enjoying your media files.

The PicoPC is a tiny little computer buddy for the home entertainment room, weighing just 13.1 ounces and measuring 1-3/16" in height. VidaBox says the PicoPC is powered by an AMD Geode LX800 processor and offers up to 32 GB of optional solid state storage for loading in your media files.

You get, via the Windows XP embedded, Internet Explorer and other Internet applications, so you can browse the Web from your television. An included wireless keyboard with trackball makes this possible, and there's also VGA video output for hooking up to external monitors.

What I really like about this device, at least from the press notes, is the fact there are no moving parts and no fan. This little guy just sits behind your HDTV, doing its thing while you enjoy your movie with no hard drive or fan sounds to distract you.

Pricing has not been announced.
