Colorado man arrested after selling library books on Craigslist PDF Print E-mail

Denver (CO) – Now here’s an interesting way to make a buck.  34-year-old Thomas Pilaar was sentenced to ten years in prison after he sold hundreds of books and DVDs on Craigslist.  The problem was … those books and discs didn’t belong to Pilaar, but to the Denver Public Library.  Prosecutors say Pilaar checked out 1400 books and DVDs and sold most of the items.

Pilaar will also have to pay $53549 in restitution.  Here's the great part, he was caught after one of the buyers found a library identitfication sticker still stuck on the book.
