Santa Clara (CA) – Skillful photographers who post their pictures on Flickr will now have a chance to hit the big time.  Flickr has teamed up with stock photography giant Getty Images to collate and possibly sell outstanding photos.  Revenues from the photos will be split between Getty and the photographers.

Photographers could make several hundred dollars off of their pics, but this is definitely a case of we’ll call you and not the other way around.  Getty Images will first invite photographers into a special Flickr group.  Getty editors will then sift through the group’s images and select the best ones for syndication.

Flickr says the group isn’t set up just yet, but adds that it will be “soon”.
