It's a nice update. It would also be nice if they could release 'Home' sometime soon. I wish I could have been a beta tester for that... :(

It's seems Sony only has two modes at this rate.

Step-one: Imitate. They say it's the best form of flattery, but if you're going to Imitate, IMPROVE IT. ie: SIXAXIS - has there EVER been a game at which point you have gone "WOW! I really feel pulled into the game thanks to the SIXAXIS controller!" or has it been "I really... REALLY miss rumble." Origin? Nintendo states they have revolutionized the gaming industry with a motion sensitive remote - weeks later Sony decides to one-up them, and make the SIXAXIS - a crappy knock-off in all senses.

Step 2: Back Peddle - Rip the SIXAXIS out of all bundled packages and shove in the Dualshock3 - which should have been in there the entire damned time...

Step 3: Blame game. "We were having troubles overcoming the technological hurdles with rumble and SIXAXIS technology..." Really? Nintendo seems to have had no issues with this... in fact the placed a force feed-back, motion sensor, infrared remote control, speaker, and a MEMORY CARD into their controller... really hard guys.

I unfortunatly belive that between the Xbox 360 and Wii Sony is getting all it's idea's. The Xbox "points" system isn't even that good! It's a digital D*$K waving contest!! you don't get credit towards anything, it doesn't even help you unlock anything.

Sony needs to start thinking up their OWN idea's, rather than stealing from Microsoft, Nintendo, and Linden Research, Inc (See Sony's Second Life Home).

it's about damn time. but this still won't make me play my PS3 more than my 360.

But:
1. its FREE
2. The xbox360 had a year advance on the ps3, so yea, they had some features before the ps3, duh!
3. did I mention its FREE (not just the stats, online play!)

1. It might be FREE but is it really worth it?
2. So PS3 isn't worth owning until they come out with the copycat updates?
3. Clearly you need it to be free after blowing $400 on your PS3 with no real must have games. And then you have to add in the fact of the cost of Blu-Ray media(because I know you're going to bring that up).

Either way, online play is the 360's domain(among consoles).

i wouldnt really call the in game xmb a rip off of the xbox360. it should have been there in the first place regardless that xbox has one. and it was stupid of sony not to have it, it is a pain to quit a game to talk to your friends. the motion sensor thing, playstation home, and the trophy room are all pointless sony should have done something better to do than ripping off the competition.
But the Playstation does have free online and it does matter that its free because after buying the console a few games and blue-Ray movies you don't really have much money to spend on monthly online gaming
It also has blue-ray like i said, there are plenty of games worth buying for it, it has a Cell processor look it up. and best of all it doesnt have anything to do with the halo series which is an overated peice of garbage, even if u have an Xbox play better games than that.
