LCD panel makers developing 17.3", 16:9 notebook panels

LCD panel makers, including AU Optronics (AUO) and LG Display, are developing 17.3" notebook panels with a 16:9 aspect ratio, as they seek to maximize their production efficiency, according to the industry sources.Vendors, such as Acer, Lenovo, Toshiba, and Asustek Computer, are all expected to roll out 17.3" notebooks, the sources said, adding Samsung Electronics does not have plans to develop 17.3" panels.
