Even on a 'green' day in North America we use way more than we need. My office for instance, has every florescent light on - for no reason, they'd just have to put a few windows in and staff would leave the damn things off in favor of non-headache inducing sunlight.

Life needs oxygen too, but enough oxygen is actually a little poisonous and sufficiently high levels in the atmosphere will cause drastic environmental cooling - an ice age in other words. The opposite of global warming.

What's their point and why are they being such belligerent poopy heads? It really seems like a bit of a childish gesture - "Here! Here! Look at me! I'm stupid and proud of it! Haw njuk njuk haw!"

Ignorance is bliss... at least it must be. It's a shame that people like this even exist. The US alone, with it's 5% of the worlds population, already uses 25% of the earth's resources. That's just down right ridiculous.

I'm glad I work for a company that prides itself on sustainability. Our office is all windows, all the lights are low energy, even the carpet is environmentally friendly.

I went to their site and went through their carbon calculator. It said I was going to release 50 pounds of CO2 and that the average American releases 41 pounds. Even though I only ended up clicking like 10% of the stuff on their list; I still was assigned this absurdly high figure. Their guestimates are BS.

While I think this might be a little immature, and probably not very healthy in the end. I am also not a fan of this "green" compain the country seems to be in/heading towards. I am all for cutting down on pollutions and living healthier lives, but I also feel it is still a person(s) right to live they way they wish and that the government is enforcing a bit to much. I am also not a believer of global warming and the "Go Green" BS that I have to listen to on a daily basis.

Whether you believe in man-made global warming or not (or even global warming at all), belching huge amounts of greenhouse gases and wasting huge amounts of power is a monumentally stupid idea.
Not only does it encourage pollution which affects everyone, but it will be an expensive venture which will achieve nothing of any use for all who take part. Whether one believes in global warming or not, being sensible with ones energy usage should be common sense!

That's the very problem. We screw up the planet, and people are dying because of that.
Where I live (Belgium - tiny country in Europe) over 6000 people die every year due to direct causes of pollution (that's the optimistic number, pessimists claim up to 18.000). That's about 6 times the amount of people who die due to traffic accidents. Pollution claimed more lives in Belgium alone than terrorism worldwide.

Regardless whether the global warming is mostly natural and will drop again or not, part of it is due to us (it's a well known fact that CO2 in the atmosphere warms up a planet, see how Venus is hotter than Mercury, while Mercury is closer to the sun) which may affect the planet permanently even if it is mostly natural.

I welcome any initiatives that make technology healthier and less power consuming. My only wish is that they didn't focus on CO2 as much but also on other substances which impact our health directly.

Invite all your friends, buy huge amounts of gasoline, fire up an enormous stake and burn them and yourselves at it! It will be even more fun, it'll make you famous (don't forget to have someone post a video on YouTube!), you'll get lots of awards (Darwin for everyone!) and best of all, you'll actually make everyone else a favour...

"Going Green" is a marketing scheme, nothing more. Its time someone called it what it is. Studies have shown that truth.com etc. has actually increased teenaged smoking. All the go green stuff is going to cause the same kind of backlash. Make it cheaper than what we have, and you don't have to call it green. The only reason its called green now is because it costs more money.

CO2 is not a threat...This is a great idea!

If you believe all the crap that the earth is heating up, you're an idiot. Considering the earth has been cooling since 1998. Further more, CO2 does NOT cause the tempature to increase. If that was the case we would alot warmer than late 1800s, and not in a cooling stage for the past 10 years. The CO2 in the air has increased only slightly. Keep in mind mother nature is really strong and we don't affect it that much.

Mars atmosphere is mostly CO2 yet it's colder than shit. Doesn't sound like a 'green house gas'.

I just wish these fear spreading liberals would just stop. Liberals got control of Congress for 2 years and everything went to shit...any connection. I'm done ranting.
