Orange (CA) – A man was arrested on Thursday for shining a green laser pointer at airliners landing near Orange County’s John Wayne Airport. Police say 36-year-old Dana Welch of Orange shined a laser towards at least three commercial airplanes and a Costa Mesa City police helicopter. Cole is on parole for drug and weapons charges, but has now been arrested and could face four federal counts of interfering with a pilot’s ability to land. Cole denies any involved, but police found two laser pointers at his home during the arrest. Read more … LA Times.
