Los Angeles (CA) – It’s time to start your downloading as Mozilla has released a brand new pre-release version of the upcoming Firefox 3 browser.  Release Candidate 1 is available for Macs, Linux and of course Windows machines in an amazing 45 languages.

We’ve been testing out the beta versions (there have been five) of Firefox 3 and have noticed that the browser is quite a bit quicker than FF 2.  However, we must admit that website compatibility and stability isn’t that great, but you really can’t expect perfection from a beta release can you?

There are a host of new features in FF3 like full-page zoom that remembers zoom settings per site and a new download manager that can resume downloads after closing the browser (praise the lord!).  There’s also minor improvements like the ability to save all the webpage tabs you have open and triple-clicking now selects a paragraph.

I've been using Firefox 3 beta5 on all of my machines (xp pro, vista, linux, OSX 10.4 and OSX 10.5) and it is by far the best browser to date. Up until Firefox 3 I have been a big supporter of IE7 (loads faster than FF2 and uses less system resources). FF3 takes it to a whole new level and it gets better with every release.

I've also been using the betas of FF3. As with all versions of Firefox, I couldn't be happier. The latest version FF3 RC1 is very nice. They are always improving and I will never go back to IE unless I'm left no other alternatives. GG Mozilla.

FF3 is great but i still think it has features missing, though it is the best browser by far(well in my opinion) but when FF4 comes out it'll be like pretty much perfect i recon.

I wish they brought out as many releases for ThunderBird as they do for FireFox. ThunderBird still needs a lot of work and there are many serious bugs going back years.

I love everything open source but Firefox never succeeded in making me switch from Opera. Now I may reconsider if it finally is faster and can do basic things like full page zoom, resume downloads and remember open tabs like Opera has done for years.
