London (England) – Sure you expect walk-through metal detecting scanners at airport, but now they are coming to London’s city streets. Faced with a growing number of knife attacks, authorities have authorized the police to deploy hundreds of scanning arches and hand-held metal detectors in public. Police have also been empowered with new 'Section 60' rules that allow them to search anyone without suspicion.
Some 550 handheld wands and 244 arches will be deployed in some of the worst crime-ridden neighborhoods. Read more … This Is London.
