CyberLink expects to bundle BD software with TSST drives PDF Print E-mail

CyberLink, a Taiwan-based provider of digital multimedia software solutions, stands a good chance of having its Blu-ray Disc (BD) software products bundled with BD optical disc drives shipped by Toshiba-Samsung Storage Technology (TSST), according to CyberLink chairman Jau Huang at an institutional investors conference on May 9. As Toshiba originally actively promoted the HD DVD standard and Samsung is a member of the BD Association, their joint venture TSST had not started volume production of either HD DVD or BD optical disc drives before BD finally emerged as the industry standard after a long battle with HD DVD, Huang indicated.
