OCZ claims it is first to market with 2 GB PC3-16000 memory modules offered in a 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) memory kit. As part of the company’s Platinum series, the 2 GHz (1.9 volt) memory devices are rated at 9-9-9 latencies. The company hinted that it will soon be offering PC3-18000 modules in 4 GB kits as well.

Pricing has not been announced. However, 2 GB (2 x 1 GB) kits of OCZ’s Platinum PC3-16000 memory are currently selling for about $300, so expect the 4 GB kit to ring up at least $600.   

2 Gig/module is not enough!

2 Gig per stick is quickly becoming too little. With 64-bit computing starting to take hold, 4 gig of memory doesn't cut it any more. Especially since most motherboards only have 2 or 4 slots, there's a need for cheaper, but larger capacity sticks!

... wow .. what do u use your computer for ...that you need more than 8gb of ram ... maybe i just can't afford a computer that plays better games but .. i have 2gb and thats more than enough for me 2 leave every program i run open... i mean if ur gona do video editing and foto editing stuff like that i guess u'll need like 4ish gb .. but how many ppl actually needs more than 4gb anyways you could jst go back to slower ram an have 4gig sticks i'm sure they have 8gig sticks 2 if i remember correctly ..

You need a workstation :) If not, then you're overestimating the benefits of RAM, IMHO. By the time 8 GB of RAM are too little, we'll be a bit beyond Nehalem and it's triple DDR3 channels, supporting around 6 slots for a total of 12 GB using your obsolete 2 GB sticks. ;)
